SpoilMe vs WishApp

SpoilMe launched in October 2023 and built a niche around content creators receiving gifts and cash from fans. WishApp took a different path: any store, any device, no ads, and hidden reservations so gifts stay a surprise. Here's how they actually compare.

We built WishApp, so we're biased. But we'll be honest.

What actually sets them apart

iOS only. For managing your list.

SpoilMe runs on iPhone only. No Android app, and no browser interface for creating or managing your wishlist. Your followers can view your list on the web at spoil.me/username, but that is it. If your friends and family use Android, they cannot install SpoilMe and cannot send gifts through the app. WishApp works on iOS, Android, and any browser, for everyone. Your aunt with a three-year-old Samsung can see your list and reserve something. Your friend on a Chromebook can too.

Built for creators. Not everyone else.

SpoilMe is designed around content creators getting gifts and cash from fans via Stripe. That is a real use case. But it is a narrow one. If you are not a creator with a fan base willing to send you money, the platform's core feature is irrelevant to you. WishApp is built for anyone who wants to share a list: birthdays, Christmas, baby showers, wedding registries. No audience required.

No reservations that stay hidden

SpoilMe has no reservation system for gift givers. If two friends want to buy the same item, both might buy it. You end up with duplicates and someone wasted money. WishApp built reservations to be invisible to the list owner. A friend claims an item and you see it's reserved. You never find out who did it or when, so the surprise stays intact.

Visual Intelligence is genuinely cool

Honestly, this is one area where SpoilMe has something interesting. Their Visual Intelligence feature lets you wishlist products directly from screenshots or your phone camera. Spot something you like on Instagram, screenshot it, add it to your list. That is clever. WishApp works the other way: paste a URL from any store and it fetches the title, image, and price. Different approach, but both solve the same problem of getting items onto your list quickly.

When to pick each one

Pick SpoilMe if you...
  • Are a content creator who wants fans to send you gifts or cash
  • Use an iPhone and don't need Android or browser support
  • Want to wishlist items from screenshots using Visual Intelligence
  • Share content on Instagram or X and want direct wishlist integration
Pick WishApp if you...
  • Want a list your friends can view and reserve from, on any device
  • Need hidden reservations so gift givers don't buy duplicates
  • Shop at stores of all sizes, not just places with a curated catalog
  • Want something that works for birthdays, Christmas, and everyday lists

"Three kids means three birthday lists plus Christmas. Before this, my family would text each other asking 'did you already get the LEGO set?' Now they just check the list. Problem solved."

"My girlfriend and I share lists with each other. I can reserve stuff without her knowing, which makes birthdays way less stressful. The hidden reservation thing is actually clutch."

SpoilMe vs WishApp: the full picture

What SpoilMe is actually built for

SpoilMe launched in October 2023 under Spoildotme Ltd, targeting content creators and influencers. The core pitch is creator-to-fan gifting: verified creators can receive physical gifts and cash payments via Stripe, with payouts typically landing within 3 days. Around 4.5 stars on the App Store from roughly 210 ratings. It has Visual Intelligence for wishlisting from screenshots, direct sharing from Instagram and X, and a curated product catalog. But it is iPhone-only, has no browser extension, and no reservation system. The whole product is designed around the creator economy, not everyday personal wishlists.

Why WishApp is built differently

WishApp started from a simple problem: most wishlist apps are either locked to one platform, cluttered with ads, or missing the features that make gifting actually work. So WishApp built something that works on any device, pulls product data from any store, and keeps reservations hidden from the list owner. No creator tools, no fan economy. Just a clean wishlist that anyone can view without signing up, and where two friends can not accidentally buy the same gift.

Which one should you actually pick?

If you are a content creator building a gift list for your audience, SpoilMe is purpose-built for that. The Visual Intelligence feature is genuinely interesting and the Stripe integration for cash gifts is a real differentiator. But if you want a wishlist for your birthday, a holiday, or a registry that your whole family can use regardless of what phone they own, WishApp is the better fit. Both are free to try. WishApp takes about two minutes to set up, works on every device, and your friends can see your list without creating an account.
