Looking for a Chestr alternative? Chestr is a free wishlist for Chrome and iPhone with price tracking built in. It hasn't had an update in two and a half years, though, and it has no gift reservations. WishApp is free, actively maintained and runs almost everywhere, and it hides reservations so surprises stay safe. It's the Chestr alternative we'd go for.

Neither app charges anything, and neither has a paid tier. With Chestr, the catch is how it planned to make money. Its stated model was selling aggregated shopping-intent data to brands, and its App Store listing says it collects Location, Contacts, Identifiers and Usage Data and links them to you. WishApp earns affiliate commissions instead, shows no ads and sells no user data. You pay the same, but you give up very different things.
WishApp runs on far more. Chestr has an iPhone app, a Chrome extension and a web app, and that's it. With no Android version, most of the world's phones are left out. There's no Firefox, Safari, Edge or Brave extension either, so in the browser it's Chrome or nothing. WishApp has apps for iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and macOS, a Raycast add-on, and extensions for Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Firefox and Safari.
Price tracking is what Chestr is good at. It watches your saved items and pings you when prices drop or coupons show up. WishApp doesn't track prices at all. Chestr was built for hunting deals on your own, though, not for gifts. You can't reserve an item, so friends can't claim something without the owner finding out, and avoiding duplicates is up to you. Hidden reservations are what WishApp is for: the owner never sees who took what.
WishApp is far ahead on coordinating gifts. Chestr has no reservations, no Secret Santa, no group gifting and no collaborative editing, and an independent 2026 review called it good for deal hunters and nothing else. WishApp runs Secret Santa, lets a few people co-manage one list, tracks what you've reserved and received with a note like 'from Sarah', and keeps the owner in the dark about reservations so the surprise holds.
Reliability is a real problem for Chestr. Saving a product in one click is its core feature, and it fails a lot. Reviewers describe links that vanish and a share button that doesn't work, and one says it saved roughly 60% of the time. Support messages reportedly went unanswered. It hasn't shipped an update since November 2023, and the founders now run other companies. WishApp's scraper has dedicated extractors for Amazon, Best Buy and Target, and the app is actively maintained.
