Both are free at the core, and neither charges a subscription. Babylist adds cash funds and group gifting, so friends can chip in toward a stroller or send money to a diaper fund, paid out through PayPal or Venmo. That money carries a 2.9% processing fee. WishApp has no cash funds or pooled gifts. It also has no fees, no ads and no shop steering you toward buying in one place.
Babylist gets the basics right, with a polished iPhone and Android app and a Chrome extension that also runs on Edge, Brave and Opera. Past that, it thins out. There's no Mac app and no Raycast, and Firefox or Safari users get a bookmarklet instead of a real extension. WishApp has native apps for iPhone, iPad, Android and macOS, proper extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari, and a Raycast add-on.
Surprises are where the two really differ. On Babylist, the registry owner can see who bought what in the Gift Tracker. A gift-giver can tick 'keep this a surprise', but the owner can still reveal it, so the surprise is opt-in and can be overridden.
