Nifty Gifts is a freshly launched wishlist app out of Tasmania, with folders, item ratings and a clean browser extension. We compared it with WishApp on devices, gifting features and how much of a track record each one has.

Nifty Gifts looks polished, but it's very new. It's web-only, with no mobile app and almost no users so far. WishApp is free forever, runs on iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and five browsers, and has Secret Santa on top. As a Nifty Gifts alternative, it's the one we'd pick today.

Both apps are free, with no paywall, no ads and no subscription. They're funded the same way too. Affiliate commissions on product links cover the costs, and you don't pay a cent more because of it. On price, it's a tie. Everything else is where they differ.
Devices are where the two really split. Nifty Gifts is web-only. There's no iPhone or Android app yet, only a promise on the roadmap, and no Mac app either. You get extensions for Chrome and Firefox, with Safari still 'coming soon.' WishApp runs natively on iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and macOS, with extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari and a Raycast add-on. If you add gifts from your phone, that alone decides it.
Nifty Gifts holds its own here. You share a list through a secret guest link or a QR code, and its 'surprise mode' hides reservations from the owner. WishApp does the same, with hidden reservations and QR codes. What Nifty Gifts doesn't document is whether guests need an account to view or reserve. With WishApp, people just open the link and see the whole list without signing up.
Nifty Gifts has two nice touches WishApp doesn't. You can sort lists into folders by occasion or person, and rate how much you want each item instead of just flagging a favourite. That helps if you juggle a lot of lists. WishApp keeps lists flat, with a simpler priority flag. On gifting, though, WishApp is ahead, with Secret Santa for group draws, a curated discover feed for ideas, and tracking of what's been reserved and received. Nifty Gifts has none of those.
Nifty Gifts is brand new. Its browser extensions launched in June 2026 with two installs and zero reviews, the features and about pages still showed a 'coming soon' placeholder while we researched this, and it has no press or community presence yet. WishApp has 100,000+ users, app-store reviews and dedicated extractors for Amazon, Best Buy and Target. You're trusting an app with your gift plans, so that history counts for something.
