Kadolog vs. WishApp (2026 Comparison)

Kadolog compared with WishApp, two gift list platforms side by side

Kadolog is a 17-year-old Belgian registry built around cash gifts that land in your bank account. Set against WishApp, the differences come down to price, the devices you can use, and how guests actually give you a gift.

Last updated: June 2026

Looking for a Kadolog alternative? Kadolog is a Belgian registry that routes cash gifts to your bank account, but once you want payments it costs €29-39 per list, plus a 2.4% card fee. WishApp is free forever, runs on phones, desktops and five browsers, and never handles money. Of the Kadolog alternatives, we'd go with WishApp.

Pricing and value

WishApp is free forever. Kadolog is free only until you want online payments. Creating lists and adding items costs nothing on either side. But the moment a Kadolog guest wants to pay by card or bank transfer, the owner needs the Premium tier at €29 per list, or €39 for the Extra tier with reminder emails. There is also a 2.4% fee on every card payment. A €2,000 wedding registry paid entirely by card can cost the couple roughly €77 in total. WishApp never charges the owner or the guest a cent.

Platforms and devices

Here the gap is wide. Kadolog is web only, runs on Drupal, and in 17 years has never shipped a mobile app. Its one Chrome extension was delisted in September 2025, which leaves only a browser bookmarklet. WishApp covers iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and macOS, with active extensions for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari and a Raycast add-on. You get the same list wherever you are, with push notifications on your phone.

Sharing, privacy and reservations

Both platforms get the basics right. You share with one link, guests open the list without an account, reserving takes a couple of taps, and the owner can't see reservations, so the surprise holds. Kadolog did a good job there. Money is where they split. To receive online payments, a Kadolog owner has to pass identity verification, hand over IBAN proof and ID, and wait on a wallet with reported weekly transfer limits. WishApp moves no money at all, so there's no KYC, no wallet and nothing to verify.

Gifting and group features

Kadolog is built for milestone events, and it shows. It runs group contribution pools where guests chip in toward one expensive gift, flags second-hand items, and has a Secret Santa draw tool with exclusion rules. WishApp matches the Secret Santa piece and adds collaborative lists, a reserved-and-received view and follow-a-list updates. It doesn't do cash pooling, though. If splitting one big gift into cash contributions is the point, Kadolog has the edge.

Ease of use and adding items

Kadolog's Magic Button bookmarklet works in desktop browsers and pulls in an item's image, title and price, which is clever for a tool with no extension. After that, things get harder. Comparison sites call the Drupal interface dated and complex, with a multi-step setup for privacy and payment options. The payment flow is the bigger problem: Trustpilot reviews repeatedly describe failed card payments, especially with French banks. WishApp takes any product link and fills in the details, or the browser extension saves an item in one click, and there's no payment step to go wrong.

Which should you pick?

Choose Kadolog if…

  • You want guests to send cash gifts straight to your bank account rather than buy and deliver items, and a one-time €29-39 fee is fine.
  • You're planning a wedding or baby registry in Belgium, where the partner discount card and brand familiarity actually help.
  • You need group contribution pools so several guests can split one expensive gift.
  • You like extras like second-hand item flagging and a built-in database of gift ideas to browse.

Choose WishApp if…

  • You want a gift list that is free forever, with no per-list fee, no card surcharge, and no paywall after ten gifts.
  • You add gifts from your phone or while browsing on a laptop and want a one-click save.
  • You need real apps on iPhone, iPad, Android and macOS, not just a website.
  • You'd rather guests reserve a gift in one tap than wrestle with card payments, IBAN proof and identity checks.
